Jay Gerhart was born and raised in Los Angeles in the USA. |

He received a Christian education through university level and enjoyed a first career as a high school teacher. |
| |
|
|
Jay started to investigate the idea of biblical worldview while at university and has made it a life-long study. |
| |
|
|
He has studied theology and missions both academically and practically in the USA and in southern Africa (since 1998). |
| |
|
|
He and his wife Sarah have three sons and are members of OC International, an interdenominational mission agency which trains Christian leaders and assists with church planting. |
