Meshack was born in February 17, 1963 to Godly parents who introduced him to the Lord Jesus Christ. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his saviour in 1979 even though he was born and brought up in a strict Christian home. |

After he finished his high school in 1985, he worked for the Youth department of his local Church Pentecostal Assemblies of God. Rev. Okumu is a graduate of Charles University Prague of the Czech Republic. |

He graduated in 1994 with Masters in Theology. During his studies he spearheaded the formation of Christian Union in the Universities of both Czech and Slovak Republics. He was also involved in smuggling of Bibles to the former Communist Czechoslovakia. |

Upon the completion of his studies, he came back and worked with The Sheepfold Ministries (TSM) in which is an indigenous mission mobilization agency in Kenya. It was a big change for him to have come from Europe and went straight to work in Garissa (Eastern part of Kenya with high temperatures). He was in charge of the Centre for Mission’s Training for the 5 years he worked with TSM. |

He left TSM and joined World Vision International (Kenya) from 1999 to 2003 where he headed a Department that was dealing with integration ministry and mission. At this point in time he was struggling with the issues of integration. |

He rose to be the National Coordinator of Christian Impact Department in World Vision International (Kenya). When at World Vision he lead a group of pastors from the slums to a vision conference that was organized by the Anglican Church of Kenya, Diocese of Nairobi where some of the questions of integration were discussed. |

His assignment with World Vision International ended in September 2003. In January 2004 he joined Carlile College of Theology (a ministry of Church Army Africa), which trains and equips evangelists and pastors for wholistic ministry. |

He also works at the Centre for Urban Mission in Kibera slums with a population of over 700,000 people. He runs a wholistic Discipleship training programme in Kibera and Korogocho slums (Nairobi) for the local pastors. |

Rev. Okumu has two wonderful children, Samson Gedaliah (6?) and Marianne Margaret (5) with his first wife Rose who went to be with the Lord 3 years ago through a tragic road accident. He remarried two years ago. |
