WESTERN AFRICA - Benin

BENIN TESTIMONY

by Chris Ampadu - September, 2004.

This is just to share with you the testimony of a sister l met in Cotonou, the capital of the Republic of Benin. The name of our sister is Mrs Zinsou J.

Sister Joycelyne was a senior civil servant working at the Ministry of Industries and Commerce when she attended our Vision Conference in Cotonou last year which was facilitated by John Wood and myself. She testified that she was completely transformed by the conference and immediately decided that she was going to apply all the principles she has learnt to all her life especially in her office work so that God will be glorified.

She confessed that it was not easy as she started to encourage hard work, honesty, and liberating herself from the African mentality of time. This led to increased productivity but very challenging as she met lots of opposition.

However, her work was critically been observed by her superiors and within three month, she was appointed as the Deputy Minister for Industries, Commerce and the Promotion of Employment.

Today she is the Secretary to the Cabinet, a ministerial position never held by any lady in her country before! She is ever grateful to God and to the Samaritan Strategy ministry which according to her teaches practical Christian principles since Christianity in her view is not a religion but a way of Life.
