This project sought to have an impact in the physical and spiritual areas of the homeless children housed at Centre Jeunes au Soleil (poor wanderer without shelter – according to Isaiah 58:7). The idea was conceived during the 17 CECU- Masina VISION Conference held in February 2009- planning had been happening since then. The passages of Matthew 25:35 and James 1:26 encouraged the group members that this project expressed some of God’s intentions for people.
The seed project group is led by Sister Jeanne Matchuli.
The group members contributed money to buy 20 kg of maize flour, 5kg of sugar, 60 pieces of soap and US$5. Fifteen children were blessed on that day with twelve people part of the assisting team.
The centre Jeunes au Soleil was created in 2008 by some people who were determined to create a positive future for formerly-homeless children now rescued into the orphanage. Its mission is to re-educate and reintegrate homeless children into their families and family life.

Those who are being assisted must accept to be accommodated at the centre. Up to now the centre has managed to reunite 2 boys with their respective families. Part of the programme includes teachings from the word of God. A counsellor and pastor visit the Centre to minister to the various needs of the children.
Brother Rigobert, A member of the project, shared the story of the man who had been invalid for 38 years. He encouraged with these words from John 5 :5- 15: “The man was already discouraged in her life, but when Jesus came at the pool he got a new beginning in his life. For you children, you were rejected by your families but in God’s family you have got a new family with men and women who can take care of you”.

This group of twelve members from the 17ème CECU- MASINA church is planning to be engaged in the long-term with the Centre. They have been offered a continuous invitation to share the Word of God and whatever they have. These children have come to realise that they can also start a small football team and play with children from other groups or area. The project has accomplished the desired purpose and opened new door to the Kingdom of God.
