The TCHD staff that attended the Vision Conference planned to plant a seed as a follow-up of the action plan they prepared at the conference.
The team identified one church to partner in their seed project and Chebunyo AGC was consequently identified.
The team shared with the leaders of Chebunyo AGC church about the seed project and asked the church to identify a needy home to be visited. The church identified a home with two orphans under the care of a great grandmother. When the pastor visited the home to organize for the visit, he was moved by what he saw and mobilized the church to buy school uniform for the two boys. The clothes were given out before the date set for the seed project.
On 9 th of October 2005 TCHD and AGC Chebunyo visited the home, with foodstuff and clothes for the boys. The aim was to show God's love to the orphans and the great grandmother.
Impact
• The great grandmother shed tears when she saw what God did for her through the church and TCHD.
• The church was challenged and committed themselves not only to support the two orphans but also to reach out to other needy people in the community, have infact purchased school uniform for the boys and paid school fees for one of the orphans who is in nursery school.
• The great grandmother confessed that it is the church where hope lies for better future of her adopted orphans.
• The government administrator (chief) got challenged and promised to also reach out to orphans in his sub-location
• The pastor reported that after the visit the boys have started to attend Chebunyo AGC and was hoping that the grandmother will be able to come also. The pastor of the church has since been made to be the area director of the new Siongiroi AGC area. We believe with the experience he now has on the seed project he will be able to reach to many churches. |
