ICC is a non-profit organization whose target is to equip the needy in our community with computer skills. ICC is dedicated to offering computer courses to the low-income in our midst.
ICC comprises of dedicated facilitators who undertake to volunteer teaching the courses. The facilitators are drawn from the higher institutions of learning. Overall, ICC aims to enlighten the community on the importance of information technology in today’s world.
Objectives
ICC aims to:
 Identify and establish a resource centre within proximal distance to the targeted community
Equip the resource centre with all the relevant computer and communication related devices necessary to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Teaching the students the fundamentals of computer studies, and knowledge in the modern world.
Eliminate the current trend of isolation as experienced by most people when it comes to technology due to the fact the facilities are out of reach to most people.
Avail the resource centre to all ICC students at all times and to encourage familiarity through unlimited practice sessions.
Benefits
After attending the ICC sessions, all the students will generally be termed as computer literate. Amongst other things, they will be able to:
Identify the various components and their usage
Create, edit, format and produce hard copy of any document
Research, learn and communicate via the Internet
General service and maintenance of a computer.
Support Requirements
To be able to effectively achieve this noble venture, it is vital that we get as much support from the general public as possible. It is only through the combined efforts of all of us that we are going to establish and maintain a trend of continuing to impart computer knowledge to all in society.
Computer –new or old
Imaging devices, for instance; Scanners, photocopiers and fax machines
Computer peripherals, e.g. Printers and Modems
Storage devices like Flash disks. Optical disks and Magnetic disks
Computer desks and chairs.
