After attending the VISION Conference in September 2008 I went and called a meeting of the church elders. I shared with them the need for our local assembly to embark on a Seed Faith Project, to which they all agreed. We looked at several needs which our community has, and agreed to do a one-day feeding project for the nursery and primary school children. At this particular school, one of the classes is used for church meetings
I shared the vision with the members of our church and asked them to participate. We chose the chairman, secretary and treasurer among ourselves to oversee the project. We came up with a budget and asked the church members to make contribution to it. We held several planning meetings together to prepare for the BIG DAY. We invited several parents and the village elders for the occasion. We managed to give about one hundred and fifty children lunch which comprised of rice, beef stew and a glass of orange juice.
In his speech while giving the vote of thanks, the village elder thanked the pastor and the congregation for showing love to the needy children in the community by feeding them. The school headmistress also thanked the church for the food and asked them to continue with that spirit of compassion.
We plan to have another feeding day during the month of May in 2009 when the school opens for the second term. We plan to include a nearby nursery school in the feeding programme. The church has included this project on the calendar of events.
I want to thank my bishop Rev. Ibrahim Omondi for choosing me to attend the VISION Conference and also thank the director of the ministry Rev. Dennis Tongoi for hosting us in that remarkable convention. May God bless him as he continues imparting the seed project vision to many people around the world.
