Here is a little story from Pastor Gary Skinner of Kampala Pentecostal Church. It represents something small in the sense of the universe, but something very profound for the people and families involved. These are the result of seed projects that this church has done in cells all over Kampala.
Just had another couple of exciting testimonies of seed projects this week.
A captain in the army who was quite rude and unapproachable was transformed and saved as a result of a cell holding a picnic for kids in the neighborhood. He didn't want his kids to have anything to do with it but they went and were changed and he was so impressed he came and gave his life to the Lord. He had been contemplating suicide as his wife had just died the week before.
He showed up at church and it happened to be a baptismal Sunday and he insisted on being baptized even though he was in full army uniform. The church went ballistic. He gave his testimony to the central celebration service this Sunday and concluded with a salute to King Jesus. It was so moving.
We also dedicated a little baby boy whose mother gave her life to the Lord at a similar picnic for kids in another very poor part of the city.
She was pregnant at the time of the picnic and her conversion but has since delivered the little boy and asked the cell members to name her boy. So we dedicated him John Beloved Bosco, with the cell gathering around her for the dedication. |
