The Opening of Budo Community Market built by Akutwala Ekiro on 16 October 2001 at 1pm.
The blue/white ribbon across the entrance cut and after a dedication prayer with thanksgiving, and joy Budo Market was declared open for business on 16 October at 1pm.
Participating in the opening was Edward Kibirige FHI/Uganda’s Country Director and Mary J Tyler the previous trainer of the Akutwala Ekiro group, which built the market. After a tour of the market stalls all participants and visitors enjoyed a piece of celebration cake.
A short Thanksgiving Service and speeches followed, then after a Celebration Lunch, all went to buy at Budo Market. The market was open and selling local produces and seeking to serve and address their local needs.
