The process of organizing a Vision Conference usually begins with an individual who sees the value of the Vision Conference messages for the local church and then initiates the formation of a planning and coordinating committee.
The committee could include representatives from church, seminary, Bible school, denomination or NGO leadership. Since one of our goals is to see the body of Christ work together, the greater the diversity of organizations represented on the coordinating committee, the better.
The planning committee would then complete a VISION CONFERENCE PROPOSAL FORM and send it to us for our consideration and response.
The local committee is responsible for planning and hosting the conference and covering all local expenses with local resources, including translation and printing of the materials, advertising the conference, and providing meals, lodging, and local transportation for the conference trainers. (Conference participants should be charged a reasonable/affordable fee to attend the conference which will help cover the planning committee's costs for hosting the conference.)
If the Vision Conference Notebook is not yet available in the language (s) in which their conference will be conducted, the local planning committee will need to get the materials translated and printed before the conference. The VC would ideally be held in a place inexpensively accessible to national or regional church leaders.
Normally, the local hosting committee will be responsible to reimburse the two conference trainers for the cost of their international airfare. Follow up of the conference should be conducted by local leadership.
